I understand that APP-node based DMC+ will run faster and accomondate more controllers than the existing VAX or UNIX based DMC+. Honeywell caches the LCN data in the APP node so that it is nearly instaneously available to applications, e.g. DMC+.

: I would like to hear some results of implementations of WindowsNT for process control. Our company is just beginning to use WindowsNT as a platform for data acquisition and process control. The new DCS's are moving to NT, as is Aspen.

: My personal experience with NT tells me it is not very robust. Also, I am told that only a single DMC+ controller can be installed on a computer. Also, RT/OPT has not been made to run on NT yet.

: I would appreciate any experinences that you are willing to share.

: Thanks.
